Jeffrey Fereday was an artist and writer based in Melbourne. A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts School of Drama in 1987, he wrote and produced several plays including: A Slow Exit (He is Going to Die) (1987, Grant Street Theatre) and A Moment's Hesitation As She Changes the Expression of Her Face (1988, La Mama). Previously, Fereday had a wayward career in motorcycle journalism and wrote a monthly satirical column for Two Wheels magazine (1982-86). Later, he wrote art reviews, catalogue essays and articles for the journals Agenda: Contemporary Art and World Art. He died of cancer in 1996, aged 37.
