We’ve been busy bees!
We’ve welcomed a new CEO, announced awards and commissions and have worked hard to move to our new website. Check out what we’ve been up to below. – Team APT

In March, we gave a warm welcome to our new CEO/Executive Producer, Erin Taylor. Erin has hit the ground running and we are incredibly excited to have her with us!
Also in March, we announced the recipients of the Erin Thomas playwrights award. Rosemary Cann, Sunny Grace and Nicola Watson have recieved funding to further develop new works and we look forward to seeing what they create!
APRIL: FRIEDA LEE ANNOUNCED AS THE WINNER OF THE MAX AFFORD AWARD
Frieda Lee took home the covetted award for her new work ‘The Bright Side of Bum Town’. The Bright Side of Bum Town tells the story of Madeira Cake and her parents Clementine and Bert. Set in a post-Covid-19 recession, it navigates financial and family stress, making it understandable for young audiences.
In May we announced Jordan Shea and Nick Atkins as the Performing Lines x APT Commission. Jordan and Nick are creating fantastic works and you can read about them below

In March, we announced the recipients of the Pride Foundation Commission, Stace Callaghan and Margi Brown Ash. You can read about their work via the link above.
Alongside National Theatre of Parramatta, we are supporting six emerging playwrights from Western Sydney in the NTofP Program to help develop new works.
After some covid delays, our First Nations Retreat will take place in October! Seven First Nations artists are headed to Shark Island Institute for an intensive development program.
Our Duologue Program, supporting mid-career and established playwrights, has just wrapped up for the year and we’ve heard some great things from participants!
