AURORA CALLING: THE RESULTS OF A JOINT OBSERVATION

$5.40$15.00

Inspired by the true story of Australian scientists Pene Greet and Gina Price, Aurora Calling – The Results of a Joint Observation cycles a year in the lives of Trisha and Jackie, physicists studying the magnificent, magical auroras, working in the Arctic and Antarctic respectively.

It’s the early 1990’s and from these extreme polar environments the women maintain their relationship using the beginnings of email technology. With the image of the aurora, the play swirls myth and science, personal and professional pressures, humanity and technology, distance and intimacy, love, loss and the desire for understanding.

  • conversational and poetic, mundane and metaphoric, vast, active and contemplative, this is a personal and epic story of a year in two women's lives.
