The Fallen Tree addresses the shape shifting concepts of love and loss in a bushfire-ravaged, rural community. The drama revolves around Hannah, her stepfather John and neighbor Claire.

Hannah is busy piling up the limbs of a fallen tree for a burn off when she’s surprised by Claire. It becomes clear that the lives of these women are more closely intertwined with Hannah’s stepfather than they care to admit. Through a series of flashbacks we see Hannah and Claire manipulated by the charismatic stepfather until a horrific secret is uncovered. The exposure of this secret eventually allows healing and regeneration to begin.
