This is Silver’s story
Silver is a woman of forty-five going on 45,000. She carries in her consciousness, in her every cell, the memory of all who have gone before her. The cellular memory of joy, pain, anger, frustration, despair, fear and love of four generations and beyond, memories of the ancients, and memories of her own grand daughters to come; they swirl in on her every moment, strange dreams, revelations and visions... of angels hovering above her dying refrigerator, Jesus in a lampshade keen to compare wounds, Yemaya dripping seawater and shells, poking around her bedroom as the ghastly Other One breathes fire and brimstone scorching her walls and staining her shag pile; all flow and mingle with recipes for lemon delicious puddings, Songs from the Shows, madness and incest.
The music of the Carousel, the challenging dream world of Fortunata the Fat Lady lead her into her cellular memory of Marguerite, her cold and angry great-grandmother.
Silver lives the lost dreams of her grandmother, the once vibrant and sexual Druceana; she finally understands the madness which seized her maiden aunt Kay; pursuing her grandfather, Gerald and his son Tom to finally reach her own mother Ellie, whose fate it was to become a deck chair.
Silver journeys to the mythic past or is it our future? She becomes Andromeda, she sits enthroned on her kitchen table draped in a blue tablecloth surrounded by The Adoration of the Magi Soups, giving suck to her Darling Boy all the while driven by her frustrated desire to be a star of musical comedy!
Silver follows the angels and journeys to death’s door, to the place of The Other One who, with Her foul breath and flaming hair, reaches into Silver’s life and takes her Darling Boy for Her own eternal purpose. {{PlayboxLogo}}

EXTRACT: Such a wave of trembling, like inside me there are veins and cells exploding in fairy floss delight and melting and sending sweet honied juices down between my thighs. My dress will be wet when I stand up. Couturier orgasm wear, totally waterproof- where would it all go? Into your shoes, says my practical voice...

EXTRACT: How sweet the curve of her ear, the ebony hair swept up away how revealing. She'll never know what it does to a man to see the fine shell of the ear... I can see part of her she'll never know, how she tempts me, draws me on, she's a temptress luring me to death, death in the richness of her hair and blackness of her eyes she draws me on
