THE THREE SECOND RULE

$5.40$15.00

The play begins with a man named Philip who has taken himself to the local Police Station. It is eight minutes before the midnight New Years Eve fireworks. Philip insists that the Police prevent him from re-joining society. He is dangerous and he has a history of abusing women.

The play focuses on three people: Philip and two of his younger friends, Rachel and Daniel. Whilst neither of the men have had a sexual relationship with Rachel, they both harbour the desire to do so.

On a late night out, in a perverse point-scoring exercise, Daniel reveals to Rachel the full extent of Philip’s lust. Rachel is traumatised as she realises the devious agendas of both men.

EXTRACT: I’m a ‘You’ man. ‘You’ and ‘No.’ They’re my main ones. - You. You. No. Sometimes, ‘Nah.’ Sometimes I improvise. Go off script. Have some fun. You …. must be kidding. Sometimes I just couldn’t give a fuck. Most times. And after twelve years of this shit who could blame me? You, you and you. She with you? You, you, you and you. Not you.
