For a start, they’re mistaken everywhere for long-defunct Aussie pop act Savage Garden. Their Airbnb host, Chad, is a closeted far-right Christian who’s convinced that Britney is his fiancee. And then they meet Judy, a narcissistic mother with a gun fetish, and her gay, terminally ill, ex-child star son Kevin, who has special backstage passes of his own.

When Steve’s tickets are inexplicably cancelled, everything falls apart, and the couple are soon spiralling towards a brutal showdown behind the curtains of Britney’s glittering façade. Will they ever escape the dark heart of American pop culture - and find a way to love each other again?
