A VIEW OF CONCRETE

$15.00

In a sprawling metropolis, where all the trees have been replaced by telephone boxes, the parks have become multiplexes, the clouds have turned a toxic orange and the animals are committing suicide, Billy is becoming a fairy. Jacquie wonders what the corrupt CEOs of the major corporations have in store for her. And James suspects his neighbour is planning to commit an atrocity.

EXTRACT: So, one day I started to shrink. My meals gradually got smaller and smaller. And so did I. I wasn't hungry. Not at all. I was just ... getting smaller.Becoming a fairy./I was told I was sick. Still, I got smaller. I got lighter. They kept me in my room. So I watched the tree out my window. Still got smaller. Smaller. And one day, I thought, I'd open my window and float on the breeze to the tree. Tiny now, I'd alight on a branch. And in front of me would be a door.

EXTRACT: Excellent. So here we go. It's early Sunday afternoon, it's yesterday, right, nice day. I'm sitting in McDonalds, or KFC, it's a fast food joint, like take-away. Anyway, this friend, my friend Sharon, or Sharee or something, I don't know her very well, I know her from clubs. Anyway, moving on. She has this friend with her. A girl, this beautiful girl. She's from an island or something, in the Caribbean or America. So we get talking, and she likes to party, and I like to party, so we decide to party together, that night, Sunday night.

EXTRACT: With the cactus, do what you can. It won't be much. But they don't need much. Just a bit. And by the end you'll give it fuck all. And when the cactus dies. You're cactus. Gone. Goodnight. Goodbye. You're fucking fucked. As soon as you see that cactus is dead, call an ambulance. Because you're pushin' it. To the edge. To the limit.
