BENEATH HEAVEN

$5.40$15.00

Tom and May find their plans and lives ripped apart when Tom loses his job and, in quick succession, his love for May, his belief in his identity and even the ability to trust his own thoughts. He abandons May just days before their baby is due to sleep in parks and toilets, seek wisdom from a madman, solace from a sad, detached woman and engage in sex for money with a cross-dressing male porn projectionist. He becomes traumatised by his own presence, paralysed by fear right to the play's desperate, closing moments.

EXTRACT: What are you just standing there for? What are you going to do for christ's-sake? You have to do something. Do something. Do you know what you look like? Like you always looked./There's nothing left. All I ever knew how to do was to give people what they want. And there's no medal for being stupid./ There's never enough of anything. I thought there'd be enough. There'd be enough of something sooner or later. Enough piss, enough fucking, enough money... I always thought there'd be enough of something.
