WILFUL BLUE

$5.40$15.00

Sanquedeet - an old, isolated monastery on the Great Ocean Road - has been turned into an artists' retreat by wealthy, well-meaning widow Harriet. Her dream is for it to be a place where young gifted artists come to create, but for the first group of artists who take up residency - Jesse, Walt, Steven and Guy - it becomes a place of tragedy after the most enigmatic and brooding member of their group, Guy, falls to his death from a nearby cliff. Wilful Blue is simultaneously set in the past and present. Both time-frames exist simultaneously on stage in a dreamlike state. Jesse and Walt move back and forth between the weeks leading up to Guy's death and the chance meeting with Grere, Guy's sister, six months later. As the story unfolds Grere tries to find out the truth about her brother's death from Jesse, who knew Guy best, and Walt, the cynical observer of all that happened at Sanquedeet. WILFUL BLUE explores the nature of talent, pain, friendship, love and memory as Grere unravels the story of her brother's search for the truth about life and art.
