Stephen House

Stephen has had 20 plays and four short films produced, and five Poetry and Image Exhibitions. He has been commissioned often and has directed and performed his work widely. He has won two AWGIE Awards from The Australian Writers Guild, an Adelaide Fringe Award, The Rhonda Jancovic Poetry Award for Social Justice, The Goolwa Poetry Cup, The SA Writers Centre / Feast Short Story Prize, and many press awards. He was Shortlisted for The Lane Cove Literary Award Poetry Prize, The Patrick White Playwright Award, The Queensland Premier Drama Award, Overland’s Fair Australia Fiction Prize, a Greenroom Best Independent Actor Award, many poetry prizes, and commended for The Di Cranston Script Award. He has received International literature residencies from The Australia Council to Canada, USA and Ireland, an Asia-link literature residency to India and an Island Of Residencies to Tasmania.

His plays and poems have been published nationally and internationally. His poetry collection real and unreal was selected for The 2018 Chapbook Project and published by ICOE Press Australia.

Stephen has performed his acclaimed solo shows, Appalling Behaviour and Almost Face To Face widely.
