K follows the story of a man who has been detained at a routine security check in an unspecified public space. The performance traces his increasingly violent detention interview under the gaze of a globalised media system. As The Man's resistance erodes, the relationship between the detention culture and the media becomes tighter. Gradually, The Man is absorbed into this televised prison-of-the-mind as a celebrity advertising the merits of Democracy as the New Commodity.

EXTRACT: Not knowing whether it is better to ignore this incident or to submit to its consequences, he decides in the end to go along with it. He does so. He does not know why exactly because there are no reasons for his arrest. He simply feels that there is a system above and around him which he must obey, although it is completely invisible to him. He senses it and wants to discover more about it even though he is sure it will cause him considerable distress. He is drawn to it like a moth to a light.
