THE COMIC’S TALE

$5.40$10.00

Ben has lost his memory and been separated from his family for many years. As he begins to remember again he returns to familiar places with his friend, Gayle. Ben and Gayle return to the beach near to where Ben used to live. Charlie’s son disappeared many years ago, and he has given up hope of finding him again. His career as a comedian is at risk due to his drinking and depression. Dawn, his daughter, begs Charlie to keep hoping. When Dawn hears that Charlie has embarrassed himself again on stage, she herself turns to drink. She walks along the beach and comes across Ben. In her drunken state, she is not sure, but she wants to believe he is her lost brother. She runs to get Charlie, but Gayle returns and urges Ben to hurry up before they miss their train. Ben is torn between staying and leaving, between hope and possible disappointment.
