The Complete Guide follows Father and Son as they navigate a path towards being granted asylum in Australia.

After Father's writing attracts the attention of police, a neighbour tells them they must immediately leave the country. With no time to farewell family members, the two men flee. Son, who has long dreamt of opening the batting for Australia, takes with him his well-thumbed book, The Complete Guide To Australia.

As Son steers them towards Australia, the men meet a range of people: a fixer, immigration officer, refugee advocate and lastly, a detention centre guard.

Freedom, when they find it, has been a long-time in the making.
