Australian Plays Transform’s Teaching Resources

These education resources have been created for the online learning world. You may know some of the selected plays and some may be new. It’s always great to make discoveries. Whichever is the case, Australian Plays Transform recommends that teachers access and read a script before selecting it for their students. Each script and the accompanying activities are designed as a mini unit of work or series of lessons for students to do solo, in pairs and in collaboration and take place over several days or more.

Malthouse Theatre Education Resources

This collection brings together a selection of education resources created for Playbox Theatre Company and Malthouse Theatre plays over the past twenty years. Many of the plays have been Australian premieres.

The collection of video and written resources provides a valuable insight into the significant relationship that has developed between a theatre company and the education sector. It also captures the plays ‘in time’, providing each creative team’s and writer’s perspective on their work and what it has to say about theatre and the world.

The collection is designed to enhance learning for students studying Drama, Theatre and English, providing them with a greater capacity to make connections between the script and the production, and to prolong their engagement and enjoyment.

Capturing History

What does it mean to be Australian? A history curriculum demands that those who write, review, teach, learn, and have lived our history have time to deeply consider; What is our history? What should be included in a history curriculum? […]

We acknowledge that we live and create on unceded lands. We pay our respects to the First Peoples of Australia, and to their elders past, present and future.
